Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Jannie Aasted Skov-Hansen, who herself faced the challenges of expatriation and repatriation, she recognised the need for dedicated support for expatriates, particularly dual-career couples, and consequently launched Here we are global.
Here we are global was born out of a passion to support accompanying partners whose careers often suffer during international relocations.

From a humble beginning as a kitchen-table initiative, we have grown into a global movement, supporting professionals worldwide.

  • Meet Our Founder & CEO

    Jannie Aasted Skov-Hansen is the visionary founder of Here we are global. With over 15 years of experience in global mobility and international HR—gaining expertise at organisations like Novo Nordisk, various NGOs and consulting agencies - Jannie is a seasoned leader committed to transforming career transitions into success stories. Her consulting work in Nepal, Central Asia, and beyond, combined with her unwavering dedication to networking and innovation, inspires our mission to empower every global professional. Jannie has coached leaders, individual contributors and international career couples globally for the past 4 years. Her personal expatriation experiences drive her passion for supporting globally mobile professionals.

  • Meet Paul Vanderbroeck

    Paul Vanderbroeck, PhD, has a background of managing talent in multinational organisations, such as Shell, General Motors and UBS. He is an Executive Coach, an accomplished researcher and sought-after speaker on gender balance and leadership development. Being a partner in an international career couple (ICC), a parent and having moved across borders several times, he has first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities of the ICC. Paul specialises in women leaders, career transformation and dual career couples. He is co-author of HERE WE ARE: The International Career Couple Handbook (Springtime 2020).

  • Meet Søren Sepstrup Lønkvist

    Søren is Executive Coach/Mentor at SSL Consulting. Soren works all over the world and has vast international leadership experience having worked as the CEO of a GE Capital Company, President & CEO of the management company, PI-Europe & Predictive Index. He has extensive expertise providing accelerated value creation and accelerating company strategies, performing leadership/management improvements for companies such as A.P. Moller-Maersk, IBM, Deloitte, and Grundfos and many more. 

  • Meet June Kashio

    June has 25 years’ experience in Human Resources Management in the Humanitarian aid Development sector including MSF, International Red Cross and the UN in over 10 countries. She is an experienced HR/Mental health practitioner for Staff Care and partners/spouses on the move. June offers psychosocial support services to HR and staff during redundancies.
    June is an EMCC certified Life and Career Coach and a Japanese IKIGAI Coach.

  • Meet Isabell Guidastri

    Isabell is a dedicated networker and Co-founder of here we are Italy, here we are Global Italy Chapter. She has a background in economics and extensive experience as a global business consultant.

    Isabell’s passion for assisting international newcomers and families in smoothly transitioning into life in Italy led her to establish guidexpat, where she offers a range of personalised services and coaching tailored to individual needs.

  • Meet Hanne Fink Ferdinand

    Hanne Fink Ferdinand, Coach and founder of WonderWalk believes in the ability to thrive, grow and initiate change through connecting and sharing perspectives. Her 20+ years of work in training, facilitating and coaching brings experience from fields of cultural diversity, communication, group dynamics, adult education, NLP, social work and healthy workplaces. She has lived, studied and worked in Nepal, England, Kenya and Namibia for 15+ years; in all places finding her path - step by step - both as an accompanying partner, employee and student. Hanne's extensive work experience covers employment in both UN agencies, various NGOs and labour unions.

    Kim serves as a close advisor to Here we are global, as well as being a board member and investor in technology, artificial intelligence, and health startups. Additionally, he contributes as an AI advisor in Life Sciences. With nearly two decades of experience in senior executive roles at Novo Nordisk, he has a background in manufacturing, supply chain, and IT.

  • Meet Caroline Palmer

    Caroline has extensive expertise in client relations, stakeholder engagement, business growth, marketing, mentoring, training and fostering global connections. She spent over two decades living in six countries, overcoming challenges while developing her broad career. Now settled in Copenhagen for the past 8 years, she is the Partner & Growth Lead at Here we are global. Caroline uses her professional skills to create meaningful relationships and lasting impact for dual-career couples and globally mobile professionals.

    Annah has worked in various industries, also as a Safari Guide in Kenya for a large Scandinavian travel agency. Her high accountability and her high level of service has ensured our clients full satisfaction. Annah has developed a deep understanding of cross-cultural communication and building connections across borders and now serves as the PR & Outreach Coordinator at Here we are global. Here she amplifies our mission, fostering strong partnerships and creating impactful opportunities.
