Wonder what here we are members look like?
Well, so do we. Of course we might have an idea, but there are many things we don’t know, and as we stated in Accompanying partners by the numbers, statistic information about this group of professionals can be very hard to come by.
Therefore we decided to ask our active members and friends of here we are global a few questions about the lives they live. As expected the numbers show, that we are an inhomogeneous group of people from many different nationalities and professions.

Here we are's 2017 Global Mobility Survey
May 2017, we asked members and friends of here we are global to help us get more information about ways global professionals and traveling partners stay professional on the move. As part of the survey, we asked everybody a little bit about themselves. Here is what we found - in numbers:
88 people participated in our 2017 survey. 88% of them were females.
52% were between the age of 35-44, while 28% were between the age of 45-54.
We are of course not saying that this is a general indication for what a typical global professional or traveling spouse might look like. But this is the general characteristic of people involved with here we are global in 2017.
A few more general characteristics
26% had a Bachelor degree or equivalent, 63% had a Master Degree as their highest finished form of education.
61% lived outside their home country at the time of the survey. 23% had returned to their home country within the last 3 years.
86% have lived outside their home country more than once.
71% had moved to another country because their partner got a new job, 19% moved because they themselves got a new job and 7% moved to a new country to seek new opportunities for themselves.
For 33% of the participants the move to another country had been initiated by a private company, 26% had a move initiated by a public entity, 13% by an NGO and 13% by an international organisation.
People who participated in the survey represent 22 countries in that sense that they call the following countries home: USA, Ireland, Mali, Thailand, UK, Finland, Pakistan, France, Italy, Israel, Türkiye, Denmark, Czech Republic, Canada, China, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Romania and Austria. Three participants in the survey might be truly global as they indicated that they do not have a country they can call home.
Also people who participated in the survey are currently living in - or have within the last three years lived in one of the following countries, countries that they refer to as host countries (not home country): Japan, Ethiopia, China, Poland, USA, Slovenia, Lebanon, Thailand, Nepal, Belgium, Philippines, Myanmar, South Africa, Kenya, Armenia, UK, Spain, Czech Republic, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina, Israel, Austria, Indonesia, Germany, Hungary, Cambodia, Vietnam, Denmark, Singapore, Bangladesh, Iran, Morocco and Russia.
We take pride in being such an inhomogeneous group of people and are happy that our survey confirms that here we are global is very well on it's way to become a global network.
